About The Position

Responsible for infrastructure and technical architecture, administration, support, and maintenance of client/server and web systems supported by PHMC. Assist management and senior members of the Network/System Administration team in defining requirements while working with project managers and application developers to analyze infrastructure, security, and technical requirements and contribute to detailed specifications for implementation. Use established change management processes and methodologies to solve complex technical problems. Communicate to management the progress of project timelines, technical challenges, and contingencies in support of the business. Keep abreast of new technologies, trends, and tools to support and participate in PHMC’s technical vision. Also responsible for uptime, security, enhancement, and maintenance of client/server, web, and legacy applications. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with peers as well as management. SCHEDULE: This is a full-time position with a work schedule of five days and 40 hours per week. May be required to work some evenings and weekends during peak periods in support of system uptime. LOCATION: Work is primarily performed at 1500 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA, as well as our secure datacenter location.

Requirements

  • Network and system administration skills
  • High-level understanding of databases, web applications, datacenter operations, and core business applications
  • Familiarity with multi-location business enterprise and technical centralization
  • Ability to learn and grow professionally
  • Must meet one of the following:
  • Have a bachelor's or associate degree in information technology from an accredited institution of higher learning and at least 1 year of verifiable professional experience in IT infrastructure
  • (Without college degree) At least 3 years of verifiable professional experience in IT infrastructure

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant IT certifications, with a focus on network and systems administration (Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, A+, Net+, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Closely follow all change management practices, policies, and procedure standards.
  • Understand business requirements and consider them when designing technical solutions, whether work effort resulted from a business request or otherwise.
  • Produce and maintain network architecture documentation.
  • Maintain and monitor day-to-day technical operations of network equipment and troubleshoot or proactively support when needed.
  • Implement and maintain computer and communications hardware and software that support the business and technical requirements of the company.
  • Participate in network design conversations and implementation services by third party vendors and business partners.
  • Perform system reviews, including event log, system logs, and monitoring of all critical hardware and software used within the enterprise.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of work according to established timelines.
  • Communicate statuses through any assigned project lifecycle to the project management team.
  • Keep abreast of new technologies through training, proactive research, and reading reference materials.
  • Focus on Cisco, VMware (vSphere, HA, Administration), HP Blade Chassis (BL380, latest generation), 3PAR 7400 SAN, Windows Servers (2012-current), and Solarwinds ORION RMM platform.
  • Understand all network designs to ensure they meet HIPAA, SOX, and PCI compliance requirements.
  • Be responsible for upholding standards for network and application security, redundancy, and resiliency, as well as documented procedures for any critical events that require remediation.
  • Contribute to work with business analysts, support specialists, and the user community to confirm that infrastructure and configuration are consistent with business requirements.
  • Track the progress and quality of work being performed in current project management/work effort software (PSA).
  • Track, communicate, and manage contemplated change notices and change orders (changes in the scope of work).
  • Be accountable for time and all work efforts entered in PSA for self.
  • Communicate ideas for improving department processes with a positive and constructive attitude and for developing this attitude in others.
  • Keep Infrastructure Leadership informed about work efforts and challenges that may affect business relations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
