About The Position

This entry-level Network Support Specialist role focuses on providing essential technical support to end-users and clients. The position involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing cloud services, and maintaining network infrastructure. Key responsibilities include translating technical information for non-technical users, diagnosing and resolving issues across various devices, and ensuring the smooth operation of the organization's IT systems. The role also emphasizes cybersecurity awareness and continuous learning of specialized software.

Requirements

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with server, client, and cloud environments.
  • Working knowledge with DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange.
  • Willingness to learn specialized in-house software.
  • Customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in navigating, deploying, and triaging of Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of basic networking protocols, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP.
  • Knowledge and experience in supporting end-users and non-human devices with remote connectivity software.
  • Familiarity with best practices surrounding threat detection software, multi-factor authentication, methods for identifying and reporting potential threats, and resilience against social engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical School Diploma or College degree
  • A+, Network +, MCP or related certification is desirable.
  • 1-2 years of network support experience preferred
  • Background in medical, clinical or diagnostic environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Translate technical concepts and terms into clear, verbose instructions for end-users and clients, maintaining patience and empathy.
  • Diagnose and resolve or escalate reported issues across all computers, printers, mobile devices, and associated peripherals within the organization.
  • Manage cloud services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Azure AD, including creating users, mailboxes, and distribution/security groups.
  • Navigate, deploy, and triage Windows operating systems.
  • Perform daily upkeep of users, groups, and objects within Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Diagnose and maintain devices relying on basic networking protocols, IP addressing, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Support end-users and non-human devices using remote connectivity software.
  • Maintain awareness of cybersecurity best practices, including threat detection software, multi-factor authentication, identifying and reporting potential threats, and resilience against social engineering.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned.
