Requirements

  • Proficiency in broadband infrastructure technologies, including fiber optics and wireless solutions.
  • Strong grasp of networking concepts such as IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, and routing.
  • Familiarity with telecommunication systems like VoIP/PBX configuration and call routing.
  • Designing and maintaining secure, scalable networks.
  • Utilizing monitoring tools to evaluate system performance.
  • Conducting project management with precision.
  • Ability to supervise and develop technical staff.
  • Providing exceptional customer service.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports and documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the Network & Support division.
  • Ensuring regular attendance and hands-on presence at all City facilities.
  • Managing a dedicated team.
  • Providing comprehensive network management and administration to enhance system efficiency and business continuity.
  • Involved in network design assessments.
  • Working closely with the Broadband team on city-wide fiber optic networks.
  • Managing work orders to track and resolve technical issues.
  • Coordinating installations and support for communication equipment.
  • Overseeing private and public wireless networks.
  • Delivering routine performance reports.
  • Assisting various departments with technology solutions.
  • Developing best practices.
  • Managing projects from inception to completion.
  • Offering exceptional user support and training.
  • Flexibility for on-call assignments to ensure critical functions remain supported after hours.
