About The Position

Carbon60 is seeking a Network Specialist with extensive experience in delivering enterprise-class network solutions within a service provider environment. The role involves joining a team focused on developing and maintaining a world-class network infrastructure to provide end-to-end managed IT services to public and private enterprises. The specialist will ensure the availability, scalability, performance, and security of the company’s multi-tenant network infrastructure, implement new customer networking components (VPNs, Firewall rules, MPLS), and maintain reliable network solutions aligned with the company's strategic vision and best practices. Responsibilities also include documenting solutions, training staff, participating in ITSM and ISMS governance, staying updated on industry knowledge, exploring value-added opportunities, and providing 24/7 escalation support.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of Network Administrator experience in either an Enterprise or Service Provider environment
  • Hands on experience with the following platforms: Next Generation Firewalls: Fortigate, Juniper, or Cisco
  • Hands on experience with the following platforms: SDN: NSX-T
  • Hands on experience with the following platforms: Load Balancing: F5, NGINX, NSX Advanced
  • Hands on experience with the following platforms: Core Switching: Cisco Nexus
  • Hands on experience with the following platforms: WAN: Juniper MX
  • Strong business analysis skills and experience, including development of business cases, requirements capture, process modeling, end user training and documentation
  • Superior troubleshooting, communication, and team skills
  • Eligible for federal government “reliability” status
  • A degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • Must be available for escalations from your team.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the availability, scalability, performance, and security of company’s multi-tenant network infrastructure.
  • Provide expertise in implementing new customer networking components such as VPNs, Firewall rules, MPLS, etc.
  • Maintain reliable and effective network solutions supporting the company’s strategic vision, customer environments, and wider best practices.
  • Ensure that all solutions are clearly documented and staff are appropriately trained in their use.
  • Participate in the ITSM and ISMS governance processes established by the company.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Explore opportunities to provide additional value to the company and its customers.
  • Provide 24/7 escalation support to the Service Desk as required.
