About The Position

The Network Specialist Cloud will be responsible for administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting IP networks, as well as the structural cabling system. This role involves performing changes in physical and logical network configurations, installing and removing devices, and making cabling connections. The specialist will provide 2nd line support to Frontex system and network users, and will be responsible for creating and updating technical documentation and operating procedures. Additionally, the role involves advising on potential network improvements, changes, or upgrades to the network infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Network Specialist experience.
  • CCNA or equivalent certification from other network vendors.
  • Very good understanding of TCP/IP protocols and IP routing.
  • Very good understanding of Ethernet switching protocols.
  • Good knowledge of network services like DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc.
  • Good understanding of the wired and wireless access technologies (wifi, 802.1x/EAP etc.).
  • Good understanding of the application-layer authentication and encryption mechanisms, e.g. HTTPS/SSL/TLS protocols, PKI and X.509 certificates.
  • Hands-on experience with products and solutions related to the domain (e.g. Cisco routers and switches, wireless controllers, network firewalls etc.).
  • Hands-on experience in administering of a large enterprise network.
  • Good knowledge of the network configuration of the endpoint operating systems (Windows, Linux, IOS etc.).
  • Work experience with stateful and stateless traffic filtering.
  • Excellent communication skills both technical and non-technical (in written and verbal communication).
  • Very strong sense of responsibility, accuracy and attention to details.
  • Sense of tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work in stressful environment with minimal supervision.
  • Physically fit to perform assigned duties (may require install or rack mount network appliances and network cables).
  • Ability to travel occasionally inside Europe (plane, boat, car etc.) up to 15 travels/year.
  • Driving license cat. B.
  • Ability to drive rented car, including abroad.
  • Very good knowledge of Azure network services.
  • Good knowledge of AWS network services.
  • Very good knowledge of DevOps concepts (CI/CD, pipelines, etc).
  • Hands-on experience with network automation and DevOps tools and solutions (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, git, etc.).
  • Work experience in programming in script languages (e.g. sh, python, PowerShell).
  • Good knowledge of data formats used in DevOps (e.g. JSON, YAML, XML).
