About The Position

The Network Services Manager will support the Texas Department of Public Safety. This role is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of network operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD -WAN, and network security platforms. The Network Services Manager will oversee daily operational activities such as incident management, problem resolution, and service availability, while serving as the primary escalation point for high -priority issues. This position requires close collaboration with cross -functional teams including Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center, Telecom, and Security. The Network Services Manager will also support vendor coordination, compliance with agency security standards, and knowledge transfer planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager.

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience performing supervisory and management work, including providing clear direction to subordinates, promoting teamwork, and motivating others to accomplish goals.
  • 7 years of experience with administration, maintenance, and design of Cisco VoIP solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of experience managing a networking team in a highly complex environment.
  • 5 years of experience with implementation and support of a 24x7x365 network, voice, and video environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of Network Services operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD -WAN, and network security platforms.
  • Oversee daily operational activities, including incident management, problem resolution, and service availability.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for high -priority network and infrastructure issues.
  • Coordinate and prioritize workload across Network Services teams, including infrastructure and security -focused functions.
  • Support ongoing and planned initiatives, including SD -WAN implementation and optimization, network monitoring and observability tools, and security integrations.
  • Provide vendor coordination and oversight for network -related services and contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with agency security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in change management processes and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center, Telecom, and Security teams to support cross -functional initiatives.
  • Provide status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning to leadership.
  • Maintain documentation of network architecture, processes, and operational procedures.
  • Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager.
