Network Security Engineer

FluidstackAustin, TX
$242,000 - $284,000Remote

About The Position

Fluidstack is seeking a Network Security Engineer to design and defend network security architecture across data centers, corporate environments, and the cloud. This role involves segmentation, firewalls, and east-west controls at a gigawatt scale. The engineer will build network detection capabilities, including telemetry, flow analysis, and alerting across various network types. A key responsibility is hardening Operational Technology (OT) and Building Management System (BMS) networks against threats. The position also requires automating network security controls to ensure new sites inherit the architecture from day one. Fluidstack is focused on delivering massive amounts of compute infrastructure for AI faster than anyone else, and this role is critical in securing that frontier.

Requirements

  • Secured production networks at scale.
  • Ability to read a packet capture as comfortably as a dashboard.
  • Designed segmentation for environments that mix IT, OT, and high-value compute.
  • Deployed and tuned NDR or flow-based detection that found real intrusions.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code: firewall rules live in a repo, not a GUI.
  • Partnered with network engineering without becoming the department of no.

Nice To Haves

  • OT and ICS security.
  • Data center or cloud provider environments.
  • BGP and routing security.
  • Zeek or Suricata.

Responsibilities

  • Design and defend the network security architecture across data centers, corp, and cloud: segmentation, firewalls, and east-west controls at gigawatt scale.
  • Build network detection: telemetry, flow analysis, and alerting across training fabrics, OT networks, and the WAN.
  • Harden the OT and BMS side, where the network touches physical plant, against threats most security teams never see.
  • Automate network security controls so new sites inherit the architecture on day one.

Benefits

  • Commitment to pay equity and transparency.
