About The Position

Join a leading banking institution as a Network Security Engineer, where you’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding complex enterprise networks. This is a remote, contract position with the potential for extension or conversion to full-time, offering exposure to high-impact security projects and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years in Network Security with a focus on firewall governance and remediation.
• Proven hands-on experience managing enterprise firewall rule bases.
• Strong understanding of network security controls, firewall policies, and access governance.
• Demonstrated expertise in firewall rule lifecycle management, audit remediation, and compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and ticketing/tracking systems (ServiceNow, Jira).
• Advanced analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with automation, scripting, or AI-assisted security operations.
• Spanish language fluency.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and implement robust enterprise network solutions, including hardware and software.
• Assess and evaluate existing network technologies to identify performance and capacity gaps.
• Establish, configure, and maintain security controls such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Conduct firewall rule base reviews, recertifications, audits, and optimizations (Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Fortinet).
• Drive remediation activities, including evidence collection, documentation, and issue resolution to support audit and compliance requirements.
• Provide expert recommendations to enhance network infrastructure and security posture.
• Program, test, and tune routers, switches, and network security devices.
• Manage network services throughout the lifecycle, from planning to implementation.
• Collaborate with risk, audit, and compliance teams to address findings and ensure timely remediation.
