About The Position

The Network Security Analyst will provide full-time support for a client’s Tenable scanning solution while working on-site in Austin, Texas, four to five days per week. The role involves configuring and administering Tenable to meet client requirements, scanning devices throughout the client environment, identifying vulnerabilities and misconfigurations, and communicating findings to the appropriate operational teams. The analyst will also advise on remediation and patching processes and coordinate with teams responsible for configuration baselines and application patching.

Requirements

8 years of experience deploying and configuring network security monitoring and incident response.
8 years of experience administering network security monitoring and incident response tools (including EDR and other tools; the posting’s list is truncated).
8 years of participation and experience in intrusion detection and incident response activities.
8 years of effective, professional business communication and reporting.

Responsibilities

Configure the Tenable solution to meet the client’s requirements.
Configure scans to cover all devices in the client environment.
Perform credentialed and uncredentialed scans in accordance with agency security policies and standards.
Identify software on scanned systems that has known vulnerabilities.
Perform targeted scans to identify specific vulnerabilities in the client environment.
Identify rogue devices after each scan and notify client IT Operations and applicable service providers at least monthly.
Notify client IT Operations and applicable service providers of identified vulnerabilities and misconfigurations using a method determined by the client.
Advise client IT Operations and applicable service providers on reducing vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
Advise client IT Operations and applicable service providers on refining the patching process so scan results reach the responsible operational teams and findings are mitigated or remediated in accordance with agency policy.
Coordinate with team members building configuration baselines.
Administer the Tenable application, including coordinating with the operational team for patching.
