About The Position

CADRE is seeking a Network Analyst to support national security work in Northern Virginia. The position has flexible core hours and provides daily substantive work to the Senior Management Team. The analyst will also serve on multidisciplinary teams. Network Analysts on the team cover three areas: telecommunications and data transport and switching engineering for traditional telecommunications providers; data center network engineering for intra- and inter-data-center transport; and network architecture or cellular network engineering for 3G, 4G, and/or 5G, including core and radio network engineering. A candidate is likely to be a subject matter expert in one or two of these areas. The analyst coordinates network analysis of logical and physical telecommunications routes, helps assess potential network operations, and applies network expertise to project work and customer modeling. The role requires relevant commercial or industry experience, strong technical and analytical skills, and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with polygraph.
  • At least 10 years of current commercial or industry experience in a relevant role, such as facility engineering or network planning, large-scale networking engineering across multiple packet fabrics, core network engineering, or radio network engineering for 3G, 4G, and/or 5G; equivalent NSA experience is also accepted.
  • Strong understanding of network technologies, protocols, systems, and equipment, including one or more of the listed technologies such as SONET/SDH, OTN, MPLS/IP-MPLS, VoIP, IMS, DWDM, ROADM, SDN, WAN/LAN, BGP, OSPF, SIP, 5G interworking, VoLTE, or radio access network technologies.
  • Experience in commercial or industrial telecommunications networks, providing physical and logical network routes to address strategic requirements.

  • Working knowledge of one or more of the listed areas, including PSTN, IP/MPLS data networks, private communications networks, VoIP networks and related equipment, fiber-optic cable, RF technologies, or GPON.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data.
  • Computer and database skills.
  • Education and experience qualification: no degree plus 14 years of relevant experience; associate degree plus 12 years; or bachelor's degree plus 10 years. A bachelor's degree is preferred in a STEM discipline, but other degrees are acceptable with strong analytical and technical acumen.

  • Work with appropriate members and organizations to evaluate the role and value of potential network operations.
  • Apply mastery of relevant network operations, principles, and best practices across projects.
