About The Position

Greenlight Networks is a leading ultra-high-speed broadband provider delivering internet services at speeds up to 1 Gigabit per second for residential and small business customers. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Network Operations Technician to join our Network Operations team and help deliver an exceptional customer experience. This role is ideal for a technically minded professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting network operations, and working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. This position may be based in any Greenlight Networks market and will support network operations across our entire service footprint. As a Network Operations Technician, you'll play a critical role in maintaining network reliability and supporting our customers and field teams.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of home networking concepts and network architecture
  • Knowledge of network equipment, including routers and switches
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical documentation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional email communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage changing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation and reporting
  • CompTIA Tech+ certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an ISP, telecommunications, technical support, or network operations environment
  • Familiarity with ISP infrastructure and field operations
  • Experience using command-line interfaces and troubleshooting tools
  • Database experience
  • Experience with mapping or GIS systems
  • Associate degree or related two-year technical degree
  • CompTIA Network+ certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network performance and respond to alarms and service issues
  • Assist with network outage management, troubleshooting, and recovery efforts
  • Partner with the Network Engineering team to identify maintenance and optimization opportunities
  • Support new market launches, district cutovers, and network rollouts
  • Provision and prepare networking equipment for residential installations
  • Maintain accurate records of network activities, maintenance, and incidents
  • Coordinate services and activities with contractors and third-party vendors
  • Support Field Operations with installations, audits, provisioning, and related activities
  • Assist Customer Concierge teams with technical troubleshooting and issue resolution
