About The Position

Installs and configures network hardware and software. Monitors and responds to network outage utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. Performs minor to moderately complex network devices maintenance. Assists with administration of network security.

Requirements

Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support.
Knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.
General knowledge and diagnostic abilities to solve network technical problems associated with maintaining a large training complex network.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
Well-versed in general system administration and networking capabilities including operating system configuration for Windows 10-11 Enterprise, Windows Server 2012-2019, Red Hat Enterprise Linux v6-8, and VMWare ESXi OS v6-7.
Experience with analyzing and creating network diagrams that provide port, protocol, and service details.
Experience with DoD and US Army IAVM tracking and reporting procedures, implementation of Cybersecurity Best Practices and remediation guidance for supported platforms.
Bachelor's level college degree or better in Information Technology or related field.
DoD IAT Level 2 certification in accordance with DoD Directive 8140 which mandates current professional certification in one of these industry standards: CCNA-Security, CND, or CompTIA's CySA+ or Security+ CE.
On-sight work location expectation at Fort Drum, New York.
Three or more years of related experience, or 8 cumulative years of related experience to substitute for college degree.
Security clearance: current SECRET or ability to obtain such clearance which requires U.S. citizenship and a favorable federal background check.
