About The Position

Installs and configures network hardware and software. Monitors and responds to network outage utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. Performs minor to moderately complex network devices maintenance. Assists with administration of network security.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support.
  • Knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.
  • General knowledge and diagnostic abilities to solve network technical problems associated with maintaining a large training complex network.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Well-versed in general system administration and networking capabilities including operating system configuration for Windows 10-11 Enterprise, Windows Server 2012-2019, Red Hat Enterprise Linux v6-8, and VMWare ESXi OS v6-7.
  • Experience with analyzing and creating network diagrams that provide port, protocol, and service details.
  • Experience with DoD and US Army IAVM tracking and reporting procedures, implementation of Cybersecurity Best Practices and remediation guidance for supported platforms.
  • Bachelor's level college degree or better in Information Technology or related field.
  • DoD IAT Level 2 certification in accordance with DoD Directive 8140 which mandates current professional certification in one of these industry standards: CCNA-Security, CND, or CompTIA's CySA+ or Security+ CE.
  • On-sight work location expectation at Fort Drum, New York.
  • Three or more years of related experience, or 8 cumulative years of related experience to substitute for college degree.
  • Security clearance: current SECRET or ability to obtain such clearance which requires U.S. citizenship and a favorable federal background check.
