About The Position

Crooked Media is seeking a Los Angeles-based Network Operations Coordinator to manage the technical publishing and platform management for their network and subscriber experience, specifically for the Friends of the Pod subscription. This role involves uploading and managing podcast and written content across various platforms, including subscription services, and providing technical and customer support to the subscriber community. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, technically curious, adept at using multiple platforms and tools, and possess a strong understanding of digital publishing workflows. An interest in news and politics, along with a commitment to ensuring a high-quality experience for both content creators and subscribers, is essential. This position collaborates with producers, marketing, and the subscription team to ensure timely and accurate delivery of content. The role also includes troubleshooting platform issues, assisting producers with publishing, and responding to subscriber inquiries via email, Substack, Discord, and other channels. The Network Operations Coordinator will report to the Director of Network Operations.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in digital media, platform support, production, or customer service (including internship experience).
  • Strong interest in political news and the Crooked Media brand.
  • Ability to stay organized while managing multiple publishing schedules and support requests.
  • Comfort working with digital publishing platforms and learning new tools quickly.
  • Excellent written communication skills for subscriber support and internal documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy when publishing content.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in a fast-paced production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with podcast publishing platforms, CMS tools, or newsletter platforms (such as Substack).

Responsibilities

  • Publishing audio, video, and written content for Crooked Shows across subscription platforms like Supercast, Substack, and Apple Podcasts.
  • Ensuring ad-free audio and video versions of episodes are correctly attached to subscriber feeds.
  • Linking ad-free video from the Crooked Media archive YouTube channel into Supercast subscriptions.
  • Attaching ad-free video assets to Substack episode drafts for subscriber delivery.
  • Supporting producers with technical questions and troubleshooting during the upload process.
  • Managing administrative access and backend settings for subscription platforms.
  • Maintaining and updating internal upload guidance documents for producers and the subscription team.
  • Preparing and publishing subscriber-exclusive written content across platforms.
  • Spot-checking and following up on the archiving of final assets into the content management system.
  • Working with producers to ensure accurate and timely publication of episodes and subscriber content.
  • Collaborating with marketing, social, and design teams to support show distribution.
  • Creating simple graphics or visual assets for platform posts as needed.
  • Helping maintain consistent publishing standards across Crooked Media’s subscription platforms.
  • Supporting internal teams with platform guidance and troubleshooting.
  • Monitoring and responding to support requests across multiple platforms (email, Substack, Discord).
  • Managing and monitoring email accounts, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Responding to Substack messages from subscribers directly on the platform.
  • Managing Supercast subscriber support inquiries, including Discord Modmail and subscriber DMs.
  • Working with the Supercast support team on refund confirmations and requests.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks for the content team.
  • Organizing and scheduling calendar and departmental meetings with senior staff.
