Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in enterprise networking roles
  • 3 year progressive leadership with leading a team
  • Cisco CCNP certification or equivalent hands-on enterprise networking experience.
  • Strong experience with data center networking technologies, including Cisco Nexus, VXLAN, and firewalls.
  • Advanced knowledge of routing, switching, WAN technologies, network segmentation, and zoning.
  • Expertise in TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, SD-WAN, and DMVPN.
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise network hardware, systems, and software.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as SolarWinds IPAM, NPM, NetFlow, and APC StruxtureWare.
  • Familiarity with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible preferred) and capacity planning.
  • Experience supporting virtualized environments.
  • Ability to physically lift and replace network equipment weighing 50 lbs. or more as required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and develop the Network team, establishing priorities, delegating work, and ensuring high performance against SLAs and service standards.
  • Lead and manage the enterprise network infrastructure across the LHUO Campus to ensure reliability, security, and performance.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance management for a team of network engineers.
  • Oversee and maintain the Corning SDLAN (GPON) network environment.
  • Design, configure, and support routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and load balancers.
  • Ensure network security through proactive monitoring, patching, and risk remediation.
  • Lead and participate in network projects including upgrades, hardware refreshes, and new technology deployments.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and enforce technical standards and operational best practices.
  • Monitor network performance and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools and analytics.
  • Manage and support network load balancing platforms (Citrix ADC / NetScaler / WARP).
  • Implement network automation and scripting to improve efficiency, management, and reporting.
  • Troubleshoot complex network, system, and application issues across all OSI layers.
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and inventory records.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call support and travel to campus locations as needed to support operations and projects.
  • Maintain reliability to support operational needs and perform other duties as assigned to support team and organizational goals.
