The Network Engineering team within Enterprise Technology is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining wireless (Wi-Fi, Cellular) and optical (GPON, fiber) network infrastructure that supports robust connectivity across our properties. As an intern, you will report to the Technical Fellow for Global Engineering and Operations and play a key role in documenting installations, automating engineering processes, and optimizing network operations. You’ll contribute to innovative projects and gain real-world experience supporting a world-class enterprise network. The dates of this internship are May/June 2026 through August/September 2026.

Requirements

  • Technical degree or coursework in computer science and data networking
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Smartsheet for network documentation and analysis.
  • Proficiency in documenting test results, maintenance plans, and network diagrams.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a technical team environment.
  • Visio or CAD experience for network diagramming.
  • Currently enrolled as a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Networking or other STEM related field at an accredited college or university.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
  • Fully available from Monday-Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours per week

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to automate engineering workflows using scripts (e.g., Python) or similar automation tools.
  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi and Cellular networking principles.
  • Exposure to various IoT solutions.
  • Experience validating network or project documentation for closeout packages.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior team members with providing technical consultation, needs assessment, engineering design, project proposals (technical and finance), technical coordination, and manage the completion of projects (oversee suppliers) to ensure the implemented design meet the business and technical requirement of the BU.
  • Work as a team member on business unit telecommunication projects, including the research and recommendation of new technologies.
  • Consult with business units on available network solutions to meet their business requirements.
  • Assist with designing customized solutions when required to support specific business unit goals and objectives.
  • Work on multiple projects at a time including developing project plans and schedules, allocating resources and providing status updates to management.
  • Network Engineer Intern function as part of the technical team and liaison to the business units to ensure projects coordinated and Disney standards are followed.
  • Work with network engineers to validate as-built documentation for new network devices, access points or radio nodes.
  • Assist in the design and installation of network infrastructure in attraction and entertainment venues
  • Automate workflows and documentation processes.
  • Consolidate tools and resources from platforms such as Slack, Teams, Box, Smartsheet, and SharePoint.
  • Troubleshoot discrepancies in network documentation and suggest process improvements.
