About The Position

The Network Engineer 2 position involves designing, implementing, and managing local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN). This role requires configuring and maintaining network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls, as well as troubleshooting network connectivity issues and resolving basic network problems. The engineer will also assist in implementing network security measures, performing network architecture design, planning and maintenance tasks on network hardware, and supporting network infrastructure components. The position includes installing, supporting, and maintaining hardware and software infrastructure including Cisco routers and switches, Meraki Wi-Fi controllers, firewalls, and structured cabling according to best practices and regulatory requirements. A key responsibility is implementing controls to protect information systems assets. Additionally, the role involves being part of the third-level helpdesk escalation, providing support to helpdesk staff when engineering support is needed related to the Network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, or related field of study and 3 years of experience with network engineering and operational management.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, or related field of study and 1 year of experience with network engineering and operational management (accepted in lieu of Bachelor's and 3 years experience).
  • 3 years of experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Hands on experience with VLANs, STP, Trunking, and WIFI.
  • Applying routing protocols OSPF and EIGRP.
  • Network security principles.
  • Working with network management and monitoring tools.
  • Working with operating systems, and virtualization.
  • Documenting technical procedures, system configurations, and project plans.
  • 1 year of experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices including routers, switches, and firewalls (accepted when qualifying with a Master’s degree).

  • Implement the necessary controls to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction.
