As a Network Engineer, you will maintain and execute a network of simulators and modeling capabilities that provide exercise capabilities for various units. The simulators are located throughout the country. The engineering team manages the network, maintains an Authority to Operate, improves system design and architecture, provides tier 1–3 troubleshooting during operations, installs hardware, manages lifecycles, releases and deploys software, and develops new features and innovations. You will design, configure, and sustain the wide area and local networks connecting geographically separated simulation sites into a single live, virtual, and constructive training environment. You will manage routers, switches, firewalls, and encryption devices across classified and unclassified enclaves, ensuring simulation traffic has the low latency and reliability required for large-scale exercises. You will troubleshoot network issues during operations and implement and maintain STIG and RMF security controls to keep the network compliant. You will work with systems, software, cyber, and technical support engineers to integrate new sites, simulations, and capabilities into the network. The role requires onsite operational support and travel to outstation sites when needed. The program offers growth opportunities and opportunities for innovation on simulation systems.
