About The Position

VTG is looking for a Network Engineer based in Chantilly, VA. This role involves designing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure in a data center environment. The engineer will administer and optimize Cisco IOS and/or Cisco NX-OS systems, configure and manage VLANs, routing protocols, and network security settings. Responsibilities also include monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, implementing improvements for high availability and reliability, and supporting network architecture for hybrid cloud platforms. Collaboration with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment is key, as is implementing best practices for network security, segmentation, and access control, and documenting configurations, processes, and network changes.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in network engineering within a data center environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco IOS and/or Cisco NX-OS
  • Proven experience configuring and managing VLANs
  • Proven experience configuring and managing Routing (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)
  • Proven experience configuring and managing Network security settings (ACLs, segmentation, etc.)
  • Experience with Cisco implementations, including optimizing network performance and operations
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
