About The Position

Responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing network infrastructure within the DHMS program to ensure reliability, performance, and security. The role works with IT teams and stakeholders to develop network policies, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with DHMS IT policies and best practices. It requires a strong understanding of network principles and experience with network equipment such as Cisco and Juniper, as well as proficiency in configuration and troubleshooting methods, processes, and tools such as Wireshark. The position also involves network assessments, automated configurations, and documentation development. The successful candidate manages multiple tasks effectively and demonstrates strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and independent working skills. Relevant certifications and familiarity with the DHMS IT environment are preferred.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Four years of experience in network administration.
Strong understanding of network principles and prior experience with network equipment such as Cisco or Juniper.
Advanced diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

CompTIA Network+ and/or CCNA certification.
CCNP certification.
Experience with SDN architecture.
Familiarity with the DHMS IT environment.
