About The Position

TEKsystems is looking for a Network Engineer for one of our top clients in the Charlotte, NC area. This role offers stability, growth, and updated technology. The position is responsible for designing, planning, and implementing network infrastructure projects, supporting Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia equipment. This role will require an understanding of troubleshooting and performance optimization. These Engineers will be responsible for P1-P2 tickets their first year covering issues such as outages and impairments that are customer facing. The main projects will involve code upgrades, Cost Optimized Latency Aware Placement (COLAP), and customer migrations. Tasks will also include working on single customer issues. This role will be the first line of defense in troubleshooting for the Network team with team members for escalation. There will be a 3-4 month ramp up period to get ingrained in their environment with a goal of joining the Sr team members level of expertise down the road.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of Configuring and Troubleshooting experience with Juniper (Switches, Routers and Firewalls)
• Ability to monitor networks
• Experience with Nokia Devices
• Ability to work with Larger ISP
• Strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, and VLANs
• Understanding of troubleshooting and performance optimization

• Network Administrator may be acceptable
