About The Position

SAIC is seeking a TACNET CB-ISEA Mid-level Network Engineer (Fleet Support) to join their team in San Diego, CA. This role is remote but requires the candidate to be local to the area due to on-site needs. The position involves frequent and regular on-site support aboard U.S. Navy ships, working directly with Active Duty personnel and government staff to provide high-quality repair and technical support for Navy afloat networks. These networks include systems such as ADNS, ISNS, CANES, FSW, CENTRIXS, Legacy SCI, VIXS, and WRBS. Travel within the U.S. and internationally (approximately 25%) may be required, along with occasional after-hours support.

Requirements

  • Must be local to the San Diego, CA area.
  • Ability to provide frequent and regular on-site support aboard U.S. Navy ships.
  • Experience with systems such as ADNS, ISNS, CANES, FSW, CENTRIXS, Legacy SCI, VIXS, and WRBS.
  • Experience providing break/fix IT support in a shipboard environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting LAN issues.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis.
  • Experience delivering server and network break/fix support.
  • Experience with remote troubleshooting of servers, networks, desktops, and peripheral devices.
  • Ability to advise and guide customers on best practices for maintaining afloat networks.
  • Ability to participate in technical meetings, prepare progress updates, and deliver briefs and presentations.
  • Ability to support engineering and design reviews through participation in integrated product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide break/fix IT support in a fast-paced shipboard environment and troubleshoot LAN issues to determine effective resolutions.
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend permanent configuration or system changes when needed.
  • Collaborate with external partners, consultants, vendors, and government agencies to resolve inter-system issues and support integration efforts.
  • Deliver server and network break/fix support, including remote troubleshooting of servers, networks, desktops, and peripheral devices.
  • Advise and guide Navy customers on best practices for maintaining afloat networks and associated components supporting data, voice, and communication services.
  • Participate in technical meetings, prepare progress updates, and deliver briefs and presentations as needed.
  • Support engineering and design reviews through participation in integrated product teams.
