About The Position

Cimarron is seeking a Network Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at Schriever Space Force Base in the Colorado Springs, CO area. The selected candidate for this position will need to be available to support a 2nd shift schedule.

Requirements

  • Due to facility security requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for consideration at this time.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include, but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities.
  • Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex., Security + CE, CySA, etc.).
  • 6 or more years of general, full-time work experience.
  • 4 or more years of directly related experience.
  • Experience in firewall configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with IP addressing, subnetting, and NAT.
  • Experience with Cisco or Juniper routers, switches, firewalls.
  • Experience configuring OSPF, SNMP, Syslog, VRF, and network timing systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Have a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Associate (JNCIA) certification.
  • Experience with network monitoring.
  • Experience using Juniper Apstra to build and deploy network configurations.
  • Experience with software defined networking, such as VMware NSX.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio diagramming.
  • Knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems and MDIOC operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure system changes are completed in accordance with developer documentation, configuration management and documentation practices.
  • Be responsible for daily hands-on operating and maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and testing of C2BMC networks.
  • Configure, install, test, and sustain IT network and boundary protection devices and systems.
  • Ability to perform technical validation of network designs in accordance with industry best practices and DoD policies and guidelines.
  • Perform data collection and validation of network services and devices.
  • Assist integration managers in problem definition and root cause analysis as needed.
  • Provide timely updates to appropriate team leads, managers and stakeholders on status of tasks and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Make recommendations to plan, develop and execute work plans that achieve critical-path requirements.
  • Work with the project team to install and test new hardware as needed for lifecycle management.
  • Use REMEDY ticketing system to report, track and document problems and resolution life-cycle actions on faulty systems.
