In this role, you will contribute to the DoD warfighter mission through your passion for technology. This network includes Cisco, Aruba, Brocade, Juniper, Riverbed and McAfee network devices to include Routers, Switches, Access Points, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and WAN Accelerators. Requirements

  • Knowledgeable engineer in the field of Ethernet and IP data engineering with 4 plus years’ experience as a Network Technician.
  • Position requires a high level of project coordination skills to manage the execution of maintenance activities and network outages.
  • Fundamental understanding of the OSI Model is required.
  • Experience must include operational support, and configuration of network devices such as servers, routers, switches, associated software tools, and cabling in a large LAN/MAN/BAN/WAN environment.
  • Minimum of a DoD Secret clearance
  • Bachelors Degree and 4 years or a combination of education and experience
  • CompTIA Security+ CE
  • Must have valid driver’s license and transportation.
  • Candidate must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have willingness to perform duties not listed in the job description as required by INflow and our customer.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP is a Plus.
  • Knowledge and experience working with wireless technologies, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), and WAN Accelerators and associated technologies is highly desirable.
  • CCNA preferred/or willing to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Handles outage and maintenance tickets servicing more than 20000 users through onsite and remote troubleshooting assistance for layer 1 – 3 issues, hardware installations of new and upgraded routers, switches, COMSEC/TACLANES, McAfee intrusion prevention systems, Aruba wireless controllers, Riverbed Steelhead WANX’s, device configurations and reconfigurations, and LAN/WAN outage recovery.
  • Troubleshooting outages and resolve network related issues.
  • Local element for COMSEC – given briefings on troubleshooting TACLANES, Trained to re-key the TACLANES.
  • Install and upgrade network devices and components. This includes switches, routers, and network monitoring devices.
  • Expected to understand, implement, and follow processes in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Performed escalation and additional tasks as directed.
  • Investigate, resolve, documente, and reporte the cause and corrective actions in the Incident Management System for all incidents assigned by the Service Desk.
