About The Position

The Network Engineer will use experience in Navy network and IT systems to support national defense and respond to evolving adversaries. The role develops and maintains networks for critical systems supporting military readiness, increasing the security, reliability, and availability of mission-critical network systems.

The engineer applies expertise in routing and switching, integration of encryption equipment, network design and architecture, system interoperability, and network security to help the Navy evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies. The position is located in Patuxent River, Maryland, and is not listed as remote.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience performing network engineering functions.
• Knowledge of core networking protocols, including OSPF, BGP, and STP.
• Knowledge of Type 1 cryptographic equipment.
• Ability to analyze network documentation, diagrams, and Nessus scan results.
• Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or IT field.
• Security+ CE certification.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Department of War network architecture standards.
• Top Secret clearance.
• CCNA certification or higher.
