About The Position

The person in this position will be the onsite Extreme Networks engineer managing the Extreme Networks, who possess a combination of experience, skills, and qualifications.

Requirements

BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5+ years, AA/AS with 7+ years' experience or substitute with 9+years of relevant experience working with network infrastructure, with focus on Extreme Networks products and solutions.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including but not limited to LAN, WAN, routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security.
Experience with deployment and administration of routing, switching, wireless, firewall technologies, load balancing, and protocols
Certified to work on Extreme Networks products, such as switches, routers, access points, and network management tools.
Shall possess a combination of experience and skills with the following manufacturers and applications: VMware NSX: Install, Configure, Manage (V6.2)
Ruckus Layer 2 Switches / Wireless Controller / Wireless Access Points
Palo Alto Networks Firewall knowledge of PA-7050 / PA-3060 / PA-3260 / PA-5450 / WildFire/URL Filtering
Brocade MPLS Implementation
Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches
Cisco Networks switches and routers
Aruba Networks Excellent knowledge of Wireless Controllers / Access Points / Airwave / ClearPass
Ciena 100G OME 6500 DWDM System
Extreme Networks Layer 2/3, MLXE Switches /Extreme IQ / OSPF, BGP, and MPLS
SolarWinds, InMon Sentinel, Uptrends
IAT Level II (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) Certification and applicable Computing Environment/Operating System Certification is required to Start.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent network vendor certificate is required to Start.
A Secret Clearance is required to Start.

Responsibilities

Manage network related projects, including planning, implementation, and documentation, including network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure expansions.
Troubleshooting complex network issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
Attend and conduct meetings with other departments for integrated solutions.
Speak to and translate complex technical terminology to higher level authorities.
Train networking team on Extreme Network changes, processes and best practices
Interface, work with, and assist customers and peers with customer services best practices.
Perform after hours maintenance windows.
Ability to lift and implement devices at 30 lbs.
