About The Position

The Senior Network Engineer’s role is to build and implement network systems across the enterprise. The Network Engineer works with team members and system support personnel with operations related to connectivity. This includes designing, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all local and wide area network hardware, corporate servers, associated software, and communication links. Also troubleshoots network performance issues, as well as analyzes network traffic and provides capacity planning solutions.

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related required.
  • 7 - 10 years experience as a Network Engineer or equivalent work required.
  • Applicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
  • Current Secret security clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Security +, CISSP, CCNA security, CCIE, PCNSA, or other industry certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze network performance across the organization’s LANs, WANs, and wireless deployments.
  • Ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of company networks.
  • Plan, design and implement improvements, modifications, and replacement of network infrastructure components.
  • Monitor system capacity to determine its affect on performance and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demands.
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot network hardware and equipment; including routers, switches, intrusion prevention systems, proxies, firewalls and load balancers.
  • Configure and support VPNs and enterprise gateway devices.
  • Monitor and report on compliance of security policies.
  • Maintain records for network asset management, including network component inventory and technical specification information.
  • Manage and monitor support contracts and licensing.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, and standards in support of network procurement and developmental efforts.
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors to secure network products and services.
  • Establish connectivity and uptime service level agreements.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.
