About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Network Engineer Professional to support the Space Force Range contract. This role involves implementing, configuring, and maintaining the enterprise network, ensuring adequate operational spares, supplies, and consumables are on hand for Operation and Maintenance (O&M) tasks. The position also oversees the setup and operation of mission equipment to meet all requirements according to mission documentation, provides day-to-day support of the Mission Enterprise Network, and monitors network performance and integrity. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting network connectivity across layers 1-4, suggesting and implementing network improvements for performance, capacity, and scalability, and remediating network vulnerabilities. The role also involves performing scheduled and emergency network maintenance, participating in the planning, design, hardware procurement, implementation, and support for the Enterprise network, and assessing system capability against emerging customer requirements, developing Requirement Statements as necessary. Additionally, the Network Engineer Professional will provide technical support for engineering project development, design, and integration, act as a technical lead mentoring team members, and implement and test STIGs for security compliance. Communication with users, maintaining technical documentation, creating O&M and training documentation, and collaborating with systems, security, and application teams are also essential. The position requires adherence to Change Management procedures and performing other duties as assigned, including devising and implementing process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology related Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) field
  • 3+ years Network Engineering experience
  • Must have current DOD 8140 certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, or Security+) or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire
  • Working Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, ARP
  • Knowledge of the OSI layers and their functions
  • Experience in LAN/WAN environments, installing and troubleshooting circuit problems (MPLS, OCxx, T1, DS3) and traffic shaping/QoS
  • Experience using network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g. SolarWinds)
  • Experience of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS, HP)
  • Experience in Layer 3 routing (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP, etc)
  • Experience in Layer 2 technologies (Spanning Tree, VTP, 802.1Q, Dynamic/Private Vlans, Etc)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Implement, configure, and maintain enterprise network

  • Provide innovative process improvements ensuring contract compliance and fulfillment while devising and implementing process improvement methods derived from internal and external integrated process team actions
