About The Position

Join Raytheon Digital Technology's Classified Infrastructure Services Network Engineering Team as a Network Engineer, Principal Specialist (P3) in Pelham, NH. This fully onsite role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of classified network infrastructure at Raytheon locations. Responsibilities include the installation, maintenance, support, and monitoring of network infrastructure, requiring a solid background in network support. The position is based in Pelham, NH, with potential for occasional travel (5-10%) to other local and US Domestic locations. Relocation support is available per company policy.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience
  • Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems, including software upgrades.
  • Experience with current cabling and fiber standards.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued US DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed.
  • Experience with access control list, security posture, and vendor best practices.
  • Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities.
  • Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting of encryption devices.
  • Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications.
  • Experience with platforms such as IP telephony, NTP servers, GemOne, and SolarWinds.
  • Certifications in Security+ within 6 months and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is highly desired within a year.
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
  • Experience with classified computing, STIG compliance, and network refreshes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains smooth operation of voice and data networks.
  • Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication networks.
  • Develops technical expertise in all areas of voice and data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors, etc.
  • Maintains network management software platforms.
  • Proposes solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings aligning with future requirements factoring in redundancy and required network uptime.
  • Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Creates new documentation where none exists.
  • Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • Assists with coordination of third-party maintenance for network equipment or with vendors for third-party support.
  • Designs networks that include selection of hardware and software packages, hierarchical architecture, and geographical limitations.
  • Works with program engineers to resolve networking problems in tactical environments.
  • Assists in the overall performance and capability of the technical team through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.
  • Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
  • Must be able to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.
