Role Overview The Network Engineer - Operations, is a core member of Cboe’s global infrastructure organization, responsible for operating, supporting, and continuously improving the reliability, performance, and fairness of network connectivity across highly distributed, latency-sensitive trading platforms spanning on-prem and cloud environments. This is a hands-on engineering role for experienced network technologists with deep expertise in routing, MPLS, firewalls, and packet-level troubleshooting, combined with working knowledge of cloud networking and automation. NOC Engineers function as true engineers—owning complex troubleshooting, real-time monitoring, incident response, change execution, and customer connectivity onboarding—while operating independently with minimal supervision. They collaborate directly with internal engineering teams and external customers, serve as escalation points, and communicate clearly with both technical stakeholders and senior leadership, translating complex issues into actionable outcomes. The role also emphasizes building efficient, modern operations through scripting, automation, and API-driven workflows to improve observability, accelerate root cause analysis, and reduce mean time to repair (MTTR). While familiarity with AI-assisted tooling is beneficial, the primary focus is on strong engineering fundamentals and practical automation that reduces operational friction. Success in this role requires sound operational judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate complex telemetry and packet-level data into clear, actionable insights. Engineers are expected to perform effectively in a high-availability, always-on environment while supporting and evolving a next-generation, software-driven network and cloud operations function. This role follows a M-F 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM schedule.
