About The Position

Demonstrates proficiency in project management; demonstrates proficiency in the use of project management tools. Participates in or provides leadership in the WAN/LAN design selection and evaluation process in coordination with functional departments. May develop a request for proposals and be involved in the pre-contract negotiation of information systems. Install, upgrade, configure and support enterprise-wide WAN/LAN equipment. Evaluate, configure develop and test network and systems application software to ensure proper functionality at the network infrastructure level. Develop and provide ongoing WAN/LAN security monitoring to safeguard patient data. Under the direction of the Lead Network Engineer, responsible for an assigned shift as scheduled and for responding to problems 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.

Requirements

  • Six plus years of work experience with knowledge of networks and information security.
  • Four years with SIEM tools

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • CISSP, CISM, CCNA, CCNP, GSEC or other related security certification (may be acquired during the first year of employment as a Network Engineer III – refer to policy # 3900 for specific requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements I.S. applications using project management.
  • Completes phases of the project including analysis, design of tables and files, report formats and matrices, testing, user training, documentation, implementation and follow up.
  • Analyzes and completes I.S. maintenance activities and end-user change requests.
  • Investigates, analyzes, and resolves I.S. user and system problems.
  • Contributes to a positive team environment.
  • Develops inter-departmental relationships.
  • Ability to give formal presentations at all levels.
  • Mentors Network Engineers.
  • Actively contributes to functional teams.
  • Performs cost analysis and feasibility studies.
