About The Position

We are seeking a Network Engineer to join a cutting-edge performance lab focused on next-generation WiFi technologies. This role will support testing and validation efforts for WiFi 7 devices, including routers, cellular backup units, and extenders, with exposure to emerging WiFi 8 technologies. You will play a hands-on role in a lab environment, working with advanced testing tools to validate hardware performance, analyze results, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with vendors to ensure product quality and compliance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of WiFi testing experience (strongly preferred on CPE devices)
  • Strong knowledge of 802.11 protocols (WiFi 5/6/6E/7; ability to explain features/differences)
  • Hands-on experience creating and executing test cases for hardware validation
  • Proficiency with Wireshark (required)
  • Solid understanding of: Networking fundamentals (OSI model, TCP/IP)
  • Solid understanding of: Wireless troubleshooting and performance analysis
  • Experience with lab tools and equipment such as: Ixia, Spirent, Octoscope, Octobox, Keysight
  • Experience with: Jira, Confluence (Chalk), TestRail, Excel
  • Scripting or automation in Python and/or TCL

Nice To Haves

  • Experience testing CPE hardware in lab environments
  • Exposure to WiFi 7 and emerging wireless technologies
  • Familiarity with: Spectrum analyzers and RF testing
  • Familiarity with: Tools such as Rhode & Schwarz, WaveApps, WaveQoE
  • Relevant certifications: CWNA, CWNP, CWAP, CCNA, or similar
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a lab/testing environment
  • Highly motivated with a passion for learning new technologies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Emotional intelligence and adaptability in fast-paced environments

Responsibilities

  • Execute lab-based testing on WiFi devices (CPE, routers, extenders)
  • Develop and maintain test cases to validate hardware against 802.11 standards
  • Perform WiFi performance and compliance testing (conducted and over-the-air)
  • Analyze test results and identify performance gaps or defects
  • Use tools like Wireshark to capture and analyze network traffic
  • Troubleshoot network and device issues using strong OSI model and TCP/IP knowledge
  • Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams for issue resolution
  • Document findings, test results, and processes using tools like Jira, Confluence, and TestRail
