About The Position

King currently has an open Network Engineer II position. This position requires solid networking experience and is ideal for someone with more advanced automation and networking capabilities. We are looking for a motivated self-starter, who is curious, hand-on and willing to assist others as needed. The ideal candidate will have a take charge attitude and be willing to take on new challenges. This position requires an active DoD security clearance. Brief Description Provide Engineer, Information Assurance (IA) and In-Service Engineer Agent (ISEA) in support of the Piers Enterprise Pier Connectivity Architecture (EPCA), Piers Network Management System (PNMS), and Wireless Piers Connection System (WPCS) production, engineer, help desk, technical writer and configuration management for Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific (PAC), code 41290, Wide Area Network (WAN) branch. Support of Piers project will include technical support for installations; providing systems, network, IA engineering, and Documentation that support associated Configuration Management Professional (CMPro), Naval Information Warfare Systems Command/ Program Executive Office Integrated Data Environment and Repository (SPIDER), JIRA, Fleet Readiness Certification Board (FRCB), Navy Enterprise Service Desk (NESD); in additional support of software development, integration, testing of hardware and software investment functions; and testing of new baseline and/or new capability of Piers systems.

Requirements

  • Solid networking experience.
  • Advanced automation and networking capabilities.
  • Motivated self-starter, curious, hand-on and willing to assist others as needed.

  • Active DoD security clearance.
  • Minimum: 2 years’ technical experience with five of the following:
  • Cisco network (switches and routers) equipment
  • L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS, Pseudo-Wires (PW)
  • Network Management System (NMS)
  • Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS)
  • IPSec and MACsec Encryption
  • Networking Protocols
  • High Availability
  • Strong Documentation Skills – Writing technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and architectural diagrams.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Communication
  • Piers Infrastructure
  • CCNA
  • Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
  • Aruba Clear Pass
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures.
  • Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networking

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Software Defined Networking.

Responsibilities
