About The Position

Network Engineer II's work with customers on implementation and upgrades of their network infrastructure as well as respond to issues related to the customer network. They plan for, design, and evaluate new and existing network systems and services between multiple platforms and protocols. This includes but is not limited to routers, circuits, internet, switches, firewalls, ISP, cabling, VPN connections, unified communications, call-center management, etc. Network Engineer II's that obtain work from a task system are primarily customer facing. Their work includes device migrations, network infrastructure, installations, and coordinating with QA and/or Risk Management to ensure configuration integrity and compliance. Network Engineer II's train and support Network Engineers. Demonstrates an in-depth to advanced knowledge in variety of technologies; serves as a point of escalation for complex issues. May provide oversight for and ensures the proper engineering and installation of both customer and internal structure changes, as well as new implementations. Makes sure the projects and task assignments are completed in a timely manner as well as being functionally and securely sound. May participates on network design; planning, site/datacenter surveys, and providing recommendations for future proofing customer infrastructures by providing data for customers with actionable data regarding specific infrastructure needs. This data might be rendered by either conference call, data (i.e., e-mail) or physical on-site inspection. Addresses firewall related work activities and issues. Addresses capacity planning and bandwidth needs. Responds promptly to incident tickets/tasks concerning network/voice issues. Works to maintain the security and proper access to customer data. Proactively seeks out and understands new and developing technologies and trends in Information Technology. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three (3) years of successful, in-depth work experience in relevant technical fields.
  • Accredited university, college or trade school education in relevant field or equivalent training in relevant technology.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Relevant certifications preferred (Certifications dependent on role but could include but not be limited to Cisco, Palo Alto, Microsoft).
