The Network Engineer II supports the functionality and availability of enterprise-wide mission critical University networks by performing network engineering and under close supervision. Performs low- to moderate-complexity operational network management and maintenance tasks. Participate in network problem identification, analysis, and resolution for low- to moderate-complexity problems. Assists with strategy, planning, and design of the campus and wide-area networks. May provide guidance and training to entry-level network engineers. Supports the functionality and availability of enterprise-wide mission critical University networks by performing network engineering and administration independently or as directed. Focuses on ticket resolution, ownership of all Layer 2 switching configuration and deployment, IPAM configurations, network hardware management, inventory and surplus management.
