About The Position
USC Credit Union is looking for an experienced Network Engineer I to support the stability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure. The Network Engineer I will install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize network hardware, software, systems, and communication links to help ensure reliable connectivity and day-to-day operations. This position will assist with troubleshooting network issues, maintaining network infrastructure, and supporting technology solutions that contribute to efficient operations and positive member and employee experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, network engineering, or a related field.
- Two or more years of related network engineering or network administration experience.
- Current network or server certification.
- Experience monitoring network performance and troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Experience supporting and maintaining network infrastructure and working with third-party technology vendors
- Basic knowledge and direct experience in the area of local and wide area networking, communications, and related hardware and software.
- Basic understanding of information technology concepts for voice and data systems.
- Strong analytical abilities.
Responsibilities
- Install, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize network hardware, software, systems, and communication links.
- Monitor and analyze network performance, assist with performance tuning, and troubleshoot network hardware and software issues.
- Implement and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, gateways, remote access servers, domain services, security firewalls, application and device servers, and Internet/Intranet connections.
- Assist with the design and deployment of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other related hardware.
- Assist with identifying, assessing, and developing requirements for new and existing network infrastructure.
- Work with vendors to troubleshoot network-related issues and implement solutions.
- Create and maintain network documentation, including network configurations, network maps, processes, and service records.
- Assist with maintaining policies, procedures, training plans, and documentation related to network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
- Assist with evaluating and recommending new hardware, software, and communication products for network compatibility and business needs.
- Test new third-party hardware and software and stay informed of emerging technologies and industry developments.
