About The Position

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Network Dev Engineer II for multiple positions available in Seattle, Washington. This role is responsible for the protocol inter-networking and architecture of our cloud computing platform. The engineer will configure and troubleshoot network traffic engineering using BGP/OSPF and large-scale network operations and maintenance procedures. They will analyze networks and troubleshoot network bugs to successfully mitigate large-scale issues. Responsibilities include configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers, as well as upgrading software on these devices within a large-scale network. The role also involves conceptualizing large scalable network solutions, writing applicable acceptance and design documentation, and implementing solutions on a reduced time scale. Additionally, the engineer will mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field and two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Two years of experience with IP networking fundamentals and application of IP protocols.
  • Two years of experience scripting with Python or Perl.
  • Two years of experience with major internet routing protocols BGP and OSPF.
  • Two years of experience with network analysis fundamentals and troubleshooting.
  • Two years of experience designing network and datacenter installations utilizing L2 and L3 protocols.
