About The Position

As a Network Contracting and Compliance Consultant, you will coordinate activities related to contracting and administering agreements with various distribution networks across Canada. You will be responsible for the selection, compliance, and monitoring of market intermediaries, advisors, agents, and representatives. You will also serve as a resource for the Business Development team regarding contracting policies and procedures, particularly with general agents nationwide. You will be involved in the following functions: Control and analyze complex requests received from General Agents, their administrative staff, and the Business Development team regarding the management/contracting of advisors, intermediaries, agents, representatives, and ensure they comply with our policies, procedures, and can be supported by operational systems. Act as a resource for government regulations and guidelines and collaborate closely with the Business Development team on all matters concerning the contracting of intermediaries, advisors, representatives, affiliated agents, and general agents. Coordinate and participate in the development and maintenance of guidelines and procedures for the company's various products regarding regulatory guidelines and business practices, and carry out related communication activities. Represent the Network Contracting and Compliance sector in various external meetings organized by the Business Development sector with MGAs, general agents, and their staff to present our policies and procedures. Analyze, investigate, and evaluate complex appointment requests from various intermediaries, advisors, affiliated agents, representatives, and make decisions for their contracting with SSQ, ensuring follow-up with general agents when required. Monitor, analyze, and produce analyses, establish SSQ guidelines to identify risks, and monitor advisors who demonstrate breaches in their business practices. Ensure the termination of advisors if necessary. Approve files produced by team employees, perform quality controls, and act as a coach for less experienced colleagues. Submit recommendations to management and/or team advisors for approval of files deemed more complex (seizure, bankruptcy, judgment), in accordance with established procedures and policies. Support agencies related to the contracting of complex files. Carry out agency reorganizations, sub-offices, or mergers, and all complex changes. Modify agency parameters in administrative systems and ensure correspondence. Support managers for all special requests. Produce production and sector results tracking statistics for the director and dashboards, and maintain them to allow for objective tracking and provide useful information for decision-making. Develop and implement new IT mandates or new processes.

Requirements

  • University degree in administration or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role or in the insurance and financial services sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in French, both oral and written.
  • Advanced proficiency in English, both oral and written, due to the nature of the tasks or interactions with English-speaking colleagues, partners, clients, or suppliers, or to meet the company's growth objectives.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
