This position is eligible for the Hybrid Work Program, with a minimum requirement of three (3) days per week onsite. Reporting to the Supervisor, Voice & Data Networks, this position is responsible for the ongoing implementation and support of the Region’s LAN and WAN technologies including Operational Technology. This includes asset management, maintaining a state of good repair of the network components, monitoring and troubleshooting network performance, fault isolation and post analysis.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science
• Five (5) years IT Networking design, build and support experience.
• Experience with multiple vendor network solutions, such as Cisco, Avaya, Fortinet and Microsoft stack.
• Deep understanding of routing, TCP/IP protocols, SASE, CASB, SD-WAN, SDN, ZTNA, LAN and WAN technologies.
• Experience with various Microsoft solutions including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, DevOps frameworks, Intune, GPO and SCCM.
• Deep understanding of firewalls, IPSEC tunneling, cloud technologies, IoT, VPN technologies and authentication and encryption methods.

Nice To Haves

• Technical related certifications such as Cisco, Security +, Network+, Microsoft Azure networking are considered an asset.
• Hands on experience with Operational Technologies, such as SCADA, ATMS, AMI considered a valuable asset.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and analyzes network performance across the Region’s LAN, WAN and Operational Technology infrastructure and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demands.
• Manages and maintains all data hardware and software assets, related to SCADA, ATMS and AMI operational technologies.
• Provides network hardware and software support by responding, analyzing, researching and resolving technical issues via telephone, remote access, or onsite, ensuring service levels are delivered.
• Leads with the installation, configuration and testing of new network devices and performs upgrades as required.
• Assists with security compliance of the Region’s network through policies, encryption through regular maintenance, audits and reviews.
• Maintains network infrastructure and performs regular security risk analysis to ensure state of good repair. Takes corrective action when required.
• Creates, manages, inventories, and monitors network devices and accounts.
• Maintains comprehensive technical documentation and operating procedures.
