About The Position

Installs, maintains, and administers Gordon Food Service network facilities and services. Performs 2nd and 3rd level support in all areas that the Network domain exists and communicates effectively to and with all other groups that are impacted or that impact offered Network services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field required.
  • One to three years previous network administration and/or network support experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required.
  • Must have good innovation, creativity, problem solving, negotiating, and teamwork, skills.
  • Must have good time management, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must display good presentation, change and conflict management, facilitation, and collaboration abilities.
  • Must strive to meet or exceed personal and team objectives.
  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices for guidance.
  • Experience in WAN and LAN network activities
  • RF maintenance and support experience
  • Familiarity with Cisco switch and routers is required.
  • Experience with network monitoring applications.
  • Familiarity with firewalls.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of load balancers is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Senior Network Administrator to conduct WAN and LAN design and configuration.
  • Troubleshoot issues within the WAN and LAN
  • Aids in performing new WAN circuit ordering and provisioning.
  • Assists in firewall design, administration and support.
  • Assists in performing RF design and maintenance.
  • Assists with authentication services administration and troubleshooting.
  • Utilizes and maintains network monitoring applications.
  • Performs network technical consulting in conjunction with the engineering process.
  • Documents all changes to the network environment.
  • Develop and maintain hardware and procedural standards for all facets of the network environment.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of software and firmware revisions for all products controlled by the network domain.
  • Participates in the team’s on-call rotation schedule (typically 1 week, every 4 weeks)
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
