About The Position

BraunAbility is seeking a Network Administrator to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting our Cisco-based network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security across both IT and manufacturing environments. The position involves hands-on work with network equipment, cabling, monitoring, troubleshooting, and collaboration with various teams and vendors. We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of networking principles and experience in IT or industrial settings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of network administration experience
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DNS, DHCP
  • Experience with Windows environments and Active Directory

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco certification (CCNA or CCNP)
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial IT environments
  • Experience with fiber networking and structured cabling

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support Cisco-based network infrastructure including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Configure VLANs, routing, and segmentation for both IT and manufacturing environments.
  • Support LAN/WAN connectivity across multiple sites and buildings.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure uptime across production and office environments.
  • Install, rack, and stack network equipment such as switches, firewalls, and patch panels.
  • Run, terminate, and test network cabling (Cat6, fiber) in office and plant environments.
  • Perform cable management, labeling, and organization within MDF/IDF closets.
  • Work in industrial environments including production floors, ceilings, and network closets.
  • Monitor network systems for performance issues or outages.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues including switching, routing, and physical layer problems.
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain network security controls including firewalls and segmentation.
  • Support vulnerability remediation and security initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and standards.
  • Work with Systems Administration and Deskside Support teams on cross-functional issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and Cisco TAC for issue resolution.
  • Maintain network diagrams, configurations, and documentation.
  • Contribute to process improvements and standardization efforts.
