About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining and optimizing network and telecommunications hardware, software, and support systems to maximize network availability and performance. This role may work closely with Systems Administrators and PC support personnel to analyze and resolve end user connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion. Network Administrator I candidates will have basic knowledge of one or more of the following functional areas and demonstrate the skills needed to gain proficiency in the other area.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs.
  • Basic understand of Local and Wide Area Network Technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of networking protocols and technologies.
  • Experience with network hardware
  • Basic understanding of the OSI Reference Model
  • Basic knowledge of Wireless Networks and technology
  • Basic knowledge in routing protocols and network security.
  • Basic knowledge of network security best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in a network, computer, or management related field and minimal experience in an information technology-related field.
  • Associate degree from an accredited school in a technology-related field and foundational experience in an information technology-related field.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and extend skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willing to travel as required.
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation or disqualify the employee from Certified Fleet Operator status under the Company Driving and Safety Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize ITIL framework for Change, Incident, and Problem Management for supporting the production environment.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving problems with network and Teams Calling.
  • Provide after-hours problem resolution as required.
  • Responsible for relevant documentation.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of network hardware devices, configurations, and support systems.
  • Assist in troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues.
  • Assist in maintaining operating systems, updates, and fixes for assigned systems.
  • Assist in maintenance and configuration of security protocols for the network.
  • Complete all training and assignments in a timely and effective manner.
  • Apply departmental standards and procedures to all assignments.
  • Adhere to all defined processes and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate with appropriate personnel.
  • Escalate problems to appropriate personnel, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
