About The Position

M.C. Dean is seeking a Network Administrator 2 to join their Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. This role will be part of a team responsible for designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security services. These services include intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers. The Network Administrator 2 will support the day-to-day planning, installation, configuration, testing, operation, analysis, and documentation of complex networks. This includes managing user accounts, access privileges, and security policies, as well as performing network status checks, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. The role also involves supporting the implementation of LAN connections, VPN solutions, and managing hardware firmware revisions. Collaboration with Security System Technicians on connectivity requirements and procedures is essential, along with documenting configurations and integrating new technologies. The position requires monitoring network performance, auditing changes, and supporting the installation and troubleshooting of enterprise-class network equipment and fiber cross-connects. A flexible on-call schedule is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship for access to classified information.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to domestic and international locations.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 2+ Years of progressive experience or Associates Degree and 6+ Years of progressive experience or HS Diploma or Equivalent and 8+ Years of progressive experience.
  • Some experience implementing various network technologies and end-user support.
  • Some experience in the use of routing protocols and switching technologies, LAN/WAN medias and protocols, and firewall configuration and protocols.
  • Familiarity with Information Assurance concepts and requirements.
  • Current certification in one of the following: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+.
  • DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level ll or higher (e.g., Sec+).
  • Strong communications, time management, and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Experience working independently and with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day planning, installation, configuration, testing, operation, analysis and documentation of complex networks.
  • Support network documentation as well as establishing and maintaining User accounts, User access privileges and security policies.
  • Perform scheduled network status checks, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Support planning and implementation of high and low speed LAN connections and designs.
  • Support planning and implementation of VPN solutions to include site-to-site VPN's built between hardware based firewalls.
  • Support management of hardware firmware revisions to include testing latest firmware revisions on current configurations and deploying when deemed appropriate.
  • Support configuration of common network equipment for operation.
  • Collaborate with Security System Technicians on connectivity requirements and procedures.
  • Support troubleshooting of common network equipment.
  • Document common network equipment configurations and settings.
  • Support integration of new technologies into existing high and low speed networks.
  • Audit network component hardware and software changes.
  • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weakness.
  • Support installation and troubleshooting of common enterprise class network equipment to include firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Support installation and troubleshooting of fiber cross connects to existing backbone cabling.
  • Support a flexible on-call schedule.
