This position involves troubleshooting, testing, and inspecting electrical apparatus, performing as a lead person on projects, and undertaking other assignments as required. The role requires some technical supervision and involves performing all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems. This includes troubleshooting capabilities, simple relay calibration, use of load recording instrumentation, and low to medium voltage switchgear testing up to the 15 kV class. The technician will test and troubleshoot moderately complex electrical systems, simple relay systems, and power metering. There is also potential to perform simple power system studies, complex analysis for equipment labeling projects, and take an active role in business development, including proposal writing, estimating man-hours and expenses, and developing scope and pricing.
