About The Position

The .Net Developer works collaboratively with customers, business analysts, domain architects, and software engineering team members to understand business requirements and drive the design, development, and implementation of quality technical solutions aligned with business strategies and IT architectural standards. Positioned within the Healthcare Workflow Solutions group, this role is involved across all phases of the full systems life cycle, specializing in automated data processing, enterprise databases, and automated print composition workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of relevant software engineering work experience.
  • Full-stack C# development across .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, REST/SOAP/WCF APIs, and self-hosted Kestrel services, with strong legacy defect diagnosis.
  • MS SQL Server mastery, T-SQL, complex queries, stored procedures, execution plan tuning, and transaction management.
  • JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, ASP.NET MVC, AJAX, jQuery, basic React, and API/layout debugging.
  • Event-driven design, RabbitMQ, background producers/consumers, retries, dead-letter queues, and idempotency.
  • NET CLI tools, PowerShell, Windows Scheduled Tasks, and hot-folder file workflows.
  • Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD automated build/release pipelines, and pull request governance.
  • Windows Server/IIS management, App Pools, basic networking (DNS/TCP/SSL), Nginx, and network diagnostics.
  • OWASP secure coding, web auth/authz, SAML SSO maintenance, and healthcare PII compliance.
  • Incremental modernization, maintainable API design, and multi-tenant code consolidation.
  • Demonstrated ability to satisfy job requirements through an equivalent number of years of applicable work experience.
  • Capability to take ambiguous, complex business challenges and convert them into clear, actionable technical solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to state messages with clarity and precision.
  • Ability to work independently on critical tasks while fostering collaborative relationships across business and IT teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Incremental modernization, decoupling web business logic, building WinForms/Windows Services, reusable design, and running .NET Core on Linux.
  • SSIS/SSRS, database deployment automation, XML/XSLT transformations, and reporting architecture.
  • Modern React (Hooks/Context/Redux), Kendo UI integration, responsive/accessible design, and legacy JS refactoring.
  • MassTransit framework, distributed system troubleshooting, message versioning, and asynchronous workflow design.
  • Python CLI, JAMS enterprise scheduler, programmatic PDF/Postscript manipulation, and address validation.
  • On-prem Azure DevOps, TFVC-to-Git migrations, TeamCity/IIS deployments, and SonarQube quality checks.
  • Log analysis, Failed Request Tracing, HTTPS/certificate debugging, load balancing, and Kerberos auth troubleshooting.
  • Advanced SAML troubleshooting, enterprise secret/vault management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Modular monolith patterns, shared platform extraction, and technical debt reduction.
  • Understanding of healthcare operational data processing, patient workflow solutions, and HIPAA data compliance standards.
  • Working understanding of print technologies, manufacturing batch processes, Postscript, PDF, and high-speed composition engines.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain automated data processing and print composition workflows utilizing XML, XSLT, MS SQL Server, and custom C# .NET services.
  • Review Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), recommend technical architectures, and implement data-driven workflows on the development platform.
  • Modernize legacy .NET Framework applications incrementally, separating business logic from tightly coupled web applications into APIs and background workers.
  • Programmatically process and manipulate PDF and Postscript files, manage hot-folder batch workflows, and align with manufacturing print practices.
  • Develop unit tests, integration test suites, and test scripts; execute unit, regression, conversion, and parallel testing across environments.
  • Independently analyze and document test results to ensure software strictly adheres to functional and technical specifications.
  • Implement characterization tests and mocking frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, MSTest) to safely add test coverage to legacy applications without full rewrites.
  • Conduct tier-3 technical support, researching and resolving complex programming issues and implementing permanent solutions for recurring defects.
  • Diagnose production bugs in legacy/modern codebases, troubleshooting memory, CPU, timeout, and connection pool bottlenecks.
  • Formulate accurate time estimates for assigned tasks; actively participate in pre- and post-implementation project reviews.
  • Convey technical concepts, updates, and project status clearly to peers, non-technical business partners, and leadership.
