About The Position

CardWorks is a diversified consumer finance service provider and parent company to CardWorks Servicing, LLC, Merrick Bank, and Carson Smithfield, LLC. CardWorks Servicing handles operational servicing for credit cards, secured cards, and installment loans, including consumer and small business loans, and offers backup servicing and due diligence. Merrick Bank is an FDIC-insured Utah Industrial Loan Bank with credit cards, recreational lending, and merchant services. Carson Smithfield, LLC provides post-charge-off debt recovery services. This .Net Developer I position is responsible for delivering high-quality, secure coding, along with analysis, testing, support, documentation, and troubleshooting for Web, Agent Portal, Mobile App, and Database issues. The role also involves researching requests from various groups like Operations, Business Units, and Clients, and requires knowledge of compliance with development and operational policies and procedures to support PCI audit requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is required or four (4) years of development or related experience in lieu of education
  • One plus year(s) of experience in Software Development required
  • Familiarity with fundamental software design patterns
  • Experience with n-Tier software systems; adept at middle-tier development involving business and data layers
  • Experience with client-side technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, Angular.js and Bootstrap
  • Proficient in the C# programming language
  • Displays an innovative approach to comprehend the business processes, technical design direction and technical tasks
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task is essential
  • Ability to work under pressure and follow implementation plans and adhere to stringent timeframes
  • Flexibility and willingness to work at a rapid pace
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate both through verbal and written channels in a way that others are able to understand the information in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
  • Ability to interface with staff and at times clients in a professional and understandable manner
  • Ability to learn business and technical processes to support business needs

Nice To Haves

  • Financial Services Industry experience preferred
  • Strong background in Object Oriented Programming concepts and techniques is preferred
  • Knowledge of REST/JSON/WebAPI as well as Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft MVC, and Microsoft WCF is a plus
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS (HTML 5 a plus)
  • Prior experience with cross-device mobile application development and experience with Microsoft LINQ to SQL and/nor Entity Framework is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Handles the front-end development of web platforms and works with object oriented programming and security
  • Collaborates with department team members to deliver assigned work tasks and coordinate delivery of components to achieve fully operational platforms and functions
  • Manages multiple short and long term development tasks in parallel within assigned timeframes and Supervisor/Manger deadlines in support of Client needs
  • Analyzes and troubleshoot issues, problems and evaluate alternatives
  • Manages multiple development tasks as part of a team, and contributes system components to be integrated into a complete product or solution
  • Creates accurate and understandable documentation, specifications and user requirements for basic functions and processes
  • Performs other job duties as assigned
  • Responsible for complying with all of the Bank’s internal control policies and procedures
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with all laws and regulations to which the Bank is subject
  • Responsible for communicating problems in operations, noncompliance with the code of conduct, noncompliance with laws and regulations, policy violations, or illegal acts
