About The Position

As part of Intersect’s operational compliance organization, you’ll help strengthen the systems, processes, and controls that support secure and reliable energy infrastructure operations. This role plays a critical part in advancing NERC CIP compliance maturity across medium impact control center environments while partnering closely with OT Security, Legal, Operations, and Regulatory Compliance teams. You’ll lead initiatives that improve regulatory readiness, cybersecurity resilience, operational continuity, and long-term infrastructure sustainability across critical operational environments. The role requires balancing technical cybersecurity expertise with operational pragmatism, stakeholder collaboration, and disciplined compliance execution in fast-moving, highly regulated environments. This role is planned to start immediately, with a training period of approximately 2 weeks and the expectation that the candidate will reach full productivity within their first 30 days. This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect’s mission to accelerate the clean energy transition by ensuring the security, reliability, and operational resilience of critical infrastructure systems. The team partners across Cybersecurity, Operations, Engineering, and Compliance functions to build scalable programs that support regulatory readiness, operational excellence, and long-term infrastructure performance. Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, OT Security, NERC CIP compliance, or compliance management within regulated infrastructure environments
  • Deep understanding of NERC CIP standards, audit readiness practices, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting medium impact control center environments and associated operational compliance requirements
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS), operational technology (OT) environments, and cybersecurity governance frameworks
  • Experience managing audits, remediation programs, compliance documentation, and cross-functional operational initiatives
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management platforms, patch management systems, baseline configuration management tools, and electronic access management systems
  • Experience supporting physical security technologies, security governance processes, and risk remediation planning
  • Strong documentation, organizational, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
  • Certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, CISA, CIPM, or NERC CIP-related certifications are strongly preferred
  • Established relationships within energy, utilities, OT cybersecurity, compliance, or critical infrastructure communities will help accelerate success in this role
  • Understanding of the operational realities of energy infrastructure environments where cybersecurity, reliability, and compliance requirements intersect

Responsibilities

  • Lead and operationalize NERC CIP compliance programs across critical infrastructure and medium impact control center environments
  • Manage compliance initiatives that support audit readiness, evidence management, remediation tracking, and regulatory reporting
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to maintain alignment with evolving NERC CIP standards and regulatory expectations
  • Support the transition toward internalized medium impact control center operations while maintaining compliance continuity
  • Collaborate with OT Security, IT, and Operations teams to improve cybersecurity controls across operational technology environments
  • Support vulnerability management, patch management, and baseline configuration management processes across regulated systems
  • Help maintain electronic access controls, physical security technologies, and secure operational access management practices
  • Contribute to risk assessment activities and remediation planning that improve long-term infrastructure resilience
  • Develop and improve scalable governance processes, documentation standards, and operational compliance workflows
  • Maintain organized compliance evidence repositories and operational records to support internal and external audits
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across cybersecurity governance and compliance operations
  • Support policy development and control standardization efforts across operational environments
  • Partner closely with technical, operational, and compliance stakeholders to align security objectives with operational priorities
  • Provide leadership during audits, remediation efforts, and regulatory assessments
  • Communicate compliance risks, priorities, and program updates clearly across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented approach to operational compliance management
