About The Position

Children's Hospital of Michigan, a nationally ranked pediatric hospital with one of the most advanced NICUs in the region, is seeking a Neonatologist Physician. This academic position offers protected research time, intramural funding for the first five years, and a strong mentorship culture. The role involves working across two premier sites: a Level IV regional NICU at CHM and a Level III NICU at Hutzel Women's Hospital. This is an opportunity to build a meaningful clinical and academic career in a well-established division.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or MD/PhD required
  • Board certified or board eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics
  • Strong interest in education and research

Responsibilities

  • Neonatology faculty position within the Detroit Medical Center system (CHM + HWH)
  • Provide care in a Level IV regional perinatal center with a 45-bed private-room NICU.
  • Utilize advanced capabilities including neonatal ECMO, congenital heart surgery, 6-bed NeuroNICU, HFOV, jet ventilators, and active cooling transport.
  • Work in a Level III NICU at Hutzel Women's Hospital with a high-risk MFM program and Special Care Nursery.
  • Participate in the Fetal Assessment Clinic and Fetal Care Center providing multidisciplinary prenatal counseling.
  • Engage with a multidisciplinary developmental follow-up program.
  • Work with a dedicated pediatric-neonatal transport team with nitric oxide and HFV capability.
  • Fulfill teaching and mentoring responsibilities with pediatric residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Actively participate in QI initiatives and research (basic science, clinical translational, or clinical research).
  • Alternative nocturnist track available (~10 night calls/month, 15 hours each).
  • Night and weekend call expected.
  • Visa sponsorship available.
