About The Position

Emory University and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta are seeking Neonatal Hospitalists for Senior Associate Faculty positions. These are limited-term, non-GME training roles within the Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics. The successful candidates will report to Dr. Poindexter, Division Director, and Dr. Shari Barkin, Chair. The role involves clinical service, education, and participation in quality improvement and research activities.

Responsibilities

Devote 1.0 effort to clinical service within the Division of Neonatology, primarily seeing patients in the NICU at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Arthur M. Blank Hospital or Emory Midtown.
Provide clinical management of approximately 8-10 infants and provide clinical service under the direct supervision of the attending neonatologist.
Educate fellows, residents, and medical students by sharing teaching responsibilities.
Attend the Department of Pediatrics Grand Rounds at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston when possible.
Provide exemplary clinical service and assure the highest quality of care for patients.
Attend monthly Division meetings and medical staff and faculty meetings as appropriate.
Participate in the annual ECMO training course.
Participate in ongoing quality improvement and clinical research activities of the division.
Participate in fellows’ conferences and didactic lectures for nurse practitioners at Emory.
Maintain Georgia state licensure, DEA certification, and appropriate facility privileges.
