About The Position
We are seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for a Locum Tenens position in Worcester, MA. This is an inpatient role in the NICU, providing clinical coverage only. The coverage period is ASAP and ongoing, with a shift schedule of Mon-Fri, 5p-8a, and weekends from 7a-7p or 7p-7a. This role is to supplement existing staff. The agency will cover travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance. Patient volume is to be determined, and rounding is required. The case mix includes NICU cases such as preterm infants, respiratory distress, and critical care.
Requirements
- Board Certified (BC) required
- Licensed in MA
- PALS certification
- Previous NICU experience required
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site coverage for NICU patients during night and weekend shifts
- Manage acutely ill neonates, including diagnosis and treatment planning
- Participate in rounding on assigned patients and communicate with the medical team
- Document patient encounters in Cerner EMR
- Respond to emergent situations in the NICU
