About The Position

This role is for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) within a 34-bed, Level III NICU, which offers a diverse acuity and case variety. The NNP will be part of a collaborative model with 2 Neonatologists and 4 NNPs, with NNPs in-house 24 hours a day. The position involves newborn nursery rounds and participation in an NNP-led transport team. The facility is located within Rapides Women’s and Children’s Hospital (RWCH), which is described as Central Louisiana’s largest and most advanced NICU and the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). RWCH also includes a 19-bed pediatric unit, a 29-bed well-baby nursery, and a 26-bed OB/post-partum unit. The team is focused on quality-driven protocols and continuous improvement in neonatal care.

Requirements

• Current APRN national specialty certification
• Minimum of a master’s degree

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a 34-bed, Level III NICU with diverse acuity and case variety.
• Collaborate within a 2 Neonatologist / 4 NNP model.
• Be available 24 hours a day as an in-house NNP.
• Participate in newborn nursery rounds.
• Be part of an NNP-led transport team.
• Focus on quality-driven protocols and continuous improvement in neonatal care.
